Trinity has long been a giving community and as needs arise, we step up to help those who need it most. We are called to serve God through our ministry of caring for others in the world.
The Outreach Committee is charged with helping the parish live out the gospel imperative “to love our neighbor as ourselves and to care for the least among us”. Currently, we are in partnership with Covenant to Care, a statewide nonprofit agency working with faith and community organizations to meet the needs of children who are neglected, abused, or at risk. Many of these children are from the Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF).
Some annual campaigns that Trinity has run to help these children are a spring clothing drive, a peanut butter & jelly drive to help feed them during the summer months, and a back-to-school supply drive to help them start the school year off with needed items. We’ve also helped the homeless with warm socks and gloves being collected during the Christmas season as well as a Giving Tree where Christmas gifts were provided to over 30 children.
If you would like to become involved in these ministries, please call the Parish office at (203) 888-6596 or contact the Rector.
